About Culture Unstained
Culture Unstained is a UK-based campaigns and investigations organisation working to end fossil fuel sponsorship of the arts and culture sector. Through advocacy, research, and high-impact campaigns, the organisation challenges the influence of the fossil fuel industry and promotes climate justice, ethical funding, and cultural independence.
The Role
The Campaigner will join a small, collaborative team to develop and deliver campaigns aimed at ending fossil fuel sponsorship of culture. This is a remote, part-time (3.5 days per week), 18-month fixed-term role with flexible working arrangements. The role focuses on campaign strategy, research, communications, and stakeholder engagement across the cultural and political landscape.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement campaign strategies to challenge fossil fuel sponsorship in the cultural sector
- Conduct research and investigations into industry influence and sponsorship activities
- Create communications materials including press releases, briefings, blogs, and social media content
- Engage with decision-makers, policymakers, and regulatory bodies
- Build relationships with artists, cultural organisations, NGOs, and grassroots movements
- Support media outreach and maintain relationships with journalists
- Collaborate on organisational strategy as part of a workers’ cooperative
Requirements
- Strong commitment to climate justice and related social justice movements
- Experience working with or supporting communities impacted by social or environmental issues
- Understanding of the climate crisis and fossil fuel industry dynamics
- Ability to develop and deliver effective campaign strategies or research initiatives
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Self-motivated with strong organisational and independent working skills
What They Offer
- Salary of £52,186.09 pro rata (£36,530.26 for 3.5 days per week)
