About Arthritis Action
Arthritis Action is a national charity helping people with arthritis to self-manage their condition. They are currently developing their 2027–2030 strategy and expanding their reach across the UK to ensure more people have access to their resources and support programmes.
The Role
As Engagement and Events Co-ordinator for Devon and Cornwall, you will play a key role in expanding Arthritis Action's reach and impact across the region. You will engage with a wide range of communities and professionals, support the delivery of online groups and events, and lead outreach projects to connect with people living with arthritis — including underrepresented and rurally isolated communities.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain relationships with local organisations, healthcare professionals and community leaders
- Organise and deliver community presentations and outreach activities across Devon and Cornwall
- Support delivery of Arthritis Action's Equality, Diversity and Inclusion strategy
- Identify and pursue networking opportunities with community, healthcare and voluntary sector partners
- Represent Arthritis Action at regional events
- Promote and support delivery of online groups and events for people in the region
- Maintain records and input data into the organisation's database
Requirements
- Proven experience in community engagement or outreach (essential)
- Strong project management and organisational skills (essential)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills (essential)
- Confident in group facilitation and public speaking (essential)
- Ability to research and establish partnerships (essential)
- Access to own vehicle and ability to travel frequently across Devon and Cornwall (essential)
- Based within the Devon or Cornwall region (essential)
What They Offer
- £25,000 – £28,000 per annum
- 25 days annual leave rising to 30 days after 5 years, plus bank holidays and 3 Christmas closure days
